Help with S&S Fidelity ISA pls

A question about : Help with S&S Fidelity ISA pls

Hi

Back in February, I saw a great looking Global Growth Stocks & Shares ISA offered by Smile online bank.

I decided to go for it despite knowing 0% about Stocks & Shares as I wanted to "have a go". I've got all the paperwork from Fidelity (the people SMILE offered it through) and all seemed well.

Tessas

A question about : Tessas

I do tax returns for family and friends so I do not normaly deal with Tessas.

One lady I do the Tax Return form for has a TOISA in her name, but she said it was transferred from her husband's name into hers.

I think the transfer probably happened on her husband's death and I think this was while it was still a TESSA (rather than a TOISA).

Can anyone tell me whether TESSAs were transferrable without losing their tax-exempt status?

Advice on moving from unwrapped to S and S isa

A question about : Advice on moving from unwrapped to S and S isa

I have a small investment portfolio I only started up in January 2015 and am investing Ј1000 per month into until March. I had already used up my isa allowance for 2014-2015 in a fixed term cash isa so could not open a stocks and shares isa at that point.

LTSB ISA

A question about : LTSB ISA

I must commend LTSB for their consistency with their cash ISA.
When the BOE cut rates LTSB follow with the same amount of decrease and now rates have started to go up they have again passed on the full increase, unlike many of their rivals, who for the most, cut more than the BOE and now increase less.

5.5% 1 year fixed Northern Rock ISA

A question about : 5.5% 1 year fixed Northern Rock ISA

does what it says on the tin

1 year
mini cash isa
fixed rate
5.5%

minimum balance Ј500

worth considering if you haven't gone for the Abbey Postal ISA and you dont forsee rates going up by another 0.75% over the next 12 months.

(otherwise I'd go for Abbey)

p.s. this isn't on their website yet as of 7.7.04

    Unused allowance from previous year

A question about : Unused allowance from previous year

I heard recently from a friend that if you hadnt used your 3k allowance of your ISA from the previous tax year that you could top it up, along with the 3k input of this tax year. I enquired about this at my local branch of Abbey National (which is obviously who my ISA is with) and was met with a blank expression.

Do I have it wrong? :-/
