A question about : Competition for jobs is getting very scary!!!

I've been looking since August and like no doubt many others here are applying for tons of jobs, maybe some lucky enough to get interviews...
It's really hit me the last couple of weeks how many people are applying for jobs...

Exec pod recruitment

A question about : Exec pod recruitment

It's now coming up to 6 months since I was made redundant. Apart from my own speculative applications, searches and personal links, I've been trying to get a job through countless agencies but most all just let me down or I'm chased to join an executive group for a service fee. (I steer clear of the latter as circumstances, recession and a lack of guarantee for my money.)

However, has anyone used this agency and can recommend them? Do they charge for their candidate services?

    Interview Presentation

A question about : Interview Presentation

Presentation on my main prioities in this role? Advice gratefully accepted!
    Hi All

After being made redundant in my previous role as a Personnel Manager I have finally managed to get some interviews..

Of course my first interview want me to do a 5 minute presentation on 'As Deputy Manager, what would your main priorities be in this role?'

I am confidant enough to do presentations - I just would like some other peoples take on what angle I should use.

    Pay increase, now no increase

A question about : Pay increase, now no increase

Here's a quickie - can a company give you a pay-rise, pay it to you for a few months, then decide to drop you back to your pre-pay-rise rate citing the current economical climate as a reason.

(they are not going so far as to ask for their money back)

    cheers!

      Civil Service

A question about : Civil Service

Sorry this is my first post.

I work for HMRC but currently I am on a career break after Maternity leave. Today I have received a payslip that shows a small increase in annual salary along with what I presume is a back payment as I have been on zero pay since November.

Does anyone know what the eventual wages agreement actually was?? Is there a link somewhere I can view just to make sure I have been awarded the correct amount?
