A question about : Not been paid

Hope someone can offer some advice - i have 1 full time job and 1 part time job - pt job is a cleaning job for 1 hour every morning and I get paid weekly. Iv'e been doing this extra job about 9 months.
Last week I wasnt paid and when I emailed the company administrator the same morning to query it, I got a phone call about 5 mins later from the company MD saying the administrator was off with flu. MD was very apologetic and said he didnt know why I hadnt been paid but I should txt him my bank details and bank name and he would personally go and pay monies in over the counter. By 4pm i still hadnt been paid so i tried to call MD but got his voicemail. I sent a text asking if everything went ok but I didnt hear anything from him until 7am the next morning via email. He said that he'd been out of london all day and that he could not get to a bank to pay the money in but a transfer had been arranged by his office and the money should hit my account that day.
I replied saying thank you etc, and would it definitely be hitting my account same day as i had my phone bill to pay. He didnt respond - he has a Blackberry btw.
After constantly checking my account throughout the day and being disappointed every time, I tried to call him again but he didnt answer. I tried calling head office but it went straight to answer machine - i think I must've called head office about 20 times! I also called the mobile of the sick administrator but it just rang and rang and rang.
I sent a final email to MD asking what was happening but I never got a response.
Still not recieved my wage so this morning I decided not to do the cleaning job. At about 10am I had two missed calls from the MD however I couldnt call him back because my phone had been cut off by this time and I cant call from office as not much privacy.
I decided to write a lengthy grievance email but have not had a response.

What would be the next step for me now? I want the money I'm owed but I also want an explanation as to why I wasnt paid on time.
