A question about : Good example of a CV

A friend of mine got made redundant last week (after almost 20 years with the same company). He is fortunate enough to have got a reasonable redundancy package but is keen to get back into work as quickly as possible.

He has never had to prepare a CV in his life and then I remembered someone somewhere on this site saying that they had a good example of one and were offering to email it if needed. Does anyone know who this was or does anyone else have good examples of CVs.

A question about : Self employed

Hi

My boyfriend has a temping job testing DVDs and is apparently self employed. He has been diagnosed with Bell's Palsy which could last for weeks or months. His left eye is quite painfull so he does not feel he could manage to stare at tv screens all day until he's better.

He has told me that he is not entiltled to any satutory (spelling?) sick pay since he is self employed. Surely he must be entitled to something, as he will have no income for some time?

A question about : Childcare & Going back to work....help pls

I'm currently on maternity leave and am looking at what will happen when I go back to work. I have two children and have been on maternity leave for most of last year and all of this year so far.

My son was born in January 2004 and I returned to work and then left again to have my daughter in December 2005. I am planning to go back to work in May and am trying to arrange childcare.

I recently came across a free C V software download in one of the forums here but cannot remember which one?

Can anyone guide me to the thread?

Also is there an easy way to log threads that I/we regard as having good info as I keep losing my way?

A question about : 53rd week

I just recieved notice from my emplorer that 2004/5 will be a 53 week pay year. Does anyone know how / if this affects CTC.

A question about : Ssp

Hi can someone help. A relative has broken their leg and is unable to work. Currently she helps her OH do the books for his business. However as the computer system and records are in the office and it is a bit cramped she would find it difficult to work there. Also unable to drive and due to family committments cannot keep the same hours as her OH.

Any advice would be appreciated.

A question about : Being Made Redundant.

Hi

I have just been told this afternoon that they are combining two jobs and that they will make one person redundant tomorrow. Its between me and a colleague. They are going to score us on performance of job and the lowest leaves tomorrow afternoon.

I have been with the company coming up to 4.5 years. Does anyone know if one can complete a sharesave scheme if you are made redundant?

Any other tips would be greatfully appreciated as I know I will be cut tomorrow.
