A question about : Boss shouting at work

My friend has just called in a right state.

At work today she went to pick up a parcel from the post office during work hours (it was for her daughter).

When she returned to work (only away for about 10 minutes) her boss called her into his office and shouted at her saying that she had no right to leave her desk for personal reasons. He was really loud and everyone in the building heard.

A question about : Time off for Eid

We have recently recruited a new person who has been employed about a month. He didn't give any pre-booked hol and when we published the rota to mid November he (along with all other staff) approved their shifts and working days.

My OH dropped a massive bombshell this morning, I am in total shock.

He told me he was dismissed from CS on Friday for Gross Misconduct.

A question about : no pay rise for 5 years

just asked for a pay rise and amongst other things they replied

recruitment levels suggest that our salaries are in line with similar employers.

does this mean that they will never offer a pay rise while they can get people to work at the current rates - because some people might be prepared to work for these rates in ten years from now

A question about : Partner dismissed

Hi everyone,

My partner has just told me that he has been suspended from work for using cannabis at work and 'pushing' someone when confronted.

I am now in despair. He has now decided that he is not going to smoke cannabis anymore as he has now discovered that it destroys everything.

I have been trying for years to get him to give up but obviously losing his job has been the 'rock bottom' moment he needed.

A question about : New job: getting paid a month in arrears

Hi,

I've got a new job in the NHS starting 30th November, however my offer of employment says i will be paid a month in arrears.

When ive worked in temp jobs in the past on weekly pay, and working in arrears; i have worked one week, not got paid, then the next week i got my first week's pay, then a week's pay when i left.

Hi all,

I have already posted this on another forum however just want to let you all know on here if you don't know.

Just want to let you know what the goverment plans are and this is a stupid idea!

The Goverment are stating that people on benefits will be issued with a benefits card to get food and basic items and reduced fags and beer spending!
