A question about : Tax Free Goods

Hi folks,

Anybody know of a company that will provide Goods Free of Tax for BFPO / FCO?

Seeking to purchase an Apple Ipad Air 2
Amazon will provide the service, but you pay full price and then claim the VAT back

Would prefer to just buy it at the -VAT price

  They do a discount for the military and offer other things like free engraving, free delivery etc.

A question about : Freezing Mobile Phone Contracts!

Hi there, i tried the search first.

I am going in tour to Kenya for 8 months, and I was wondering if anyone knows if I can freeze my mobile phone contract.

I called EE they said that I can't as it was an iPhone 5 and I can use it there. However If was still with orange I could have froze it.

But I thought that because I was in the armed forced I could do that.

Any one got any advice or links. So could call them back. I don't wanna buy there over priced bundles on top of my contract.

A question about : Army Pension Advice

Phoned the above because I was informed that after serving 5 years 11 days from 1980 to 1985 I was entitled to one. Received a letter saying I had only served 4 years & 344 days. 11 days short. Sent of photocopies of service record clearly saying 5 yrs 11 days. They got back to me saying that when I first joined we where giving 2 weeks holiday until we started trainning that was the reason why.

A question about : Pension Transfer from RAF to Police.

Hi all. I've had a look through a few on-line forums to find an answer to my question, but to no avail; so I wonder if anyone reading this may have the answer. I served in the RAF Regiment in the mid to late 80's for a total of 1717 days; I then joined the Metropolitan Police in February 1990. My question is this; how many of those 1717 days pensionable service can I transfer to my MPS pension? I've been told they're worth less than 300 days, but that seems rather low to me. Thanks in advance.

I've not posted in this forum before, so hope you can shed some light on this question.

My husband is in the army and over the last few months a few of his colleages have been dealing with a company called 'Rift'. Rift will organise a claim for a tax rebate on service personnel's behalf (along with other sectors, such as construction, etc) for a whopping 28% + VAT fee!!
