Walking shoes/trainers

A question about : Walking shoes/trainers

I'm currently training to take part in a 26 mile charity walk and need to get new shoes well in advance of the walk.

Most of my walking is on pavement, some grass, no rocky ground.

Would running trainers be good for this type of walking or something more like the sketchers go walk range?

Or would a hill walking type shoe still be best for pavements?

Hello all,

Hope you can help me......i used to go to a gym (lets call it gym a) in my home town quite a few years ago. I then used a different gym (gym b) for a few year and now I am a student i went back to gym a as it is much cheaper than gym b. I gave my bank details to set up a payment for 6 months but havent signed a contract.

A question about : Virgin Active New T&C's

Hi

I have looked around but can't see a thread on this.

I have been a member with Virgin Active for a while. On teh 5th January they wrote changing two key T&C's

1) Payment will be brought forward to the 1st every month
2) They only have to give 3 days notice for any direct debit changes from the previous 10.

Losing inches but not weight

A question about : Losing inches but not weight

Hi all,

Hopefully someone might suggest either some routine changes or tell me to be patient!

So, at the moment I'm doing two 45 minute spin classes per week, plus one strength session and a swim. I'm finding that my weight is staying pretty much steady (-1kg in 4 weeks) but clothes are getting looser. I would like to get my BMI down to the normal range (currently 26.5) and wondered if that will come or if I need to change my routine.

Diet has remained the same with the increased exercise.

A question about : just want to keep fit

I don't have a weight problem (9st 3lbs, 5'8), but I know I'm not as fit as I should be.

Are there any websites out there that could give me ideas as to how to improve my fitness? I've looked at my fitness pal, but it's very weight-loss oriented.

Improve My Workout

A question about : Improve My Workout

As the title says, what imporvements can be made to the below? Am I neglecting any important muscles etc. General goal of workout is to tone up whilst increasing strength and general fitness, not looking to be super strong, just stronger.

3-day Split, all excersises are 3 sets, looking to complete 8 reps per set before increasing the weight next time out.

A question about : WATERPROOF/SPLASHPROOF walking sandals/shoes (closed-toe) FOR BEACH

I am looking for some waterproof (or at least splashproof) closed-toe walking sandals/shoes to wear on & near the beach. The problem is, I am not sure what terms/features I should be looking for, to get the correct product! Any ideas what the search criteria should be?
