A question about : Municipal gyms

Hello! My mental health service has offered to pay my subscription to a municipal leisure centre/gym. It's the Donald Dewar (lol) Leisure Centre. I think it was built for the Glasgow Commonwealth Games. It has three swimming pools, a cardio room, a weights room, and sports courts. Thing is, I've never been beyond the lobby. I've been to a municipal gym before, and it was grotty. How is this one? Should I pay for a real gym instead?

I have started to do a lot more walking due to various reasons. And losing weight is one of them.

Any way as I am approx 4st over weight. I want to give extra protection to my knee and ankles. Can any one recommend some gel inserts for my trainers. Thanks

A question about : Ending Virgin active contract early.

Hi all,

I need some advice as to if I can end my virgin active contract early. I signed up about 4 months ago. Since then two things have happened:

1) I have injured myself and am having surgery in a month
2) I have a new job in the Antipodes and will be moving over there straight after the op!

Any if I can get out and if so how?

A question about : Residential Bootcamp Soon

I was wondering if anyone had been on/had any information on ant companies who run residential bootcamps either UK or abroad?

My partner is looking to go on one fairly soon to give the fitness regime a kick start and I was hoping there might be some off season/last minute deals, any recommendations?

A question about : Where can I buy a Gym(combination) locker for under 3 pounds?

Is 3 pounds or so for a padlock from 'the Gym group' a good deal?

Also are combination locks better than conventional lock with a key? I imagine resetting a combination lock isn't the hardest thing in the world and also there's a risk with a conventional lock that somebody else might have exactly the same lock as me !
