I rambled on for a good 30 minutes too! Anyway, that'll teach me, i'll condense this post.

Me: Female, 28, current have between Ј20,000-Ј25,000 in debt. Wanted to join to forum to speak to other people in similar situations and curb the panic attacks and moments of madness at 2am playing with calculators and spreadsheets.

A question about : A big thank you from a long time lurker

Hi all,

I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone on here. I've never posted before now, but I've read so many of the threads here and I've had the same problems as many others. Reading these gave me some comfort, as at times I felt very stupid, embarrassed and also alone thanks to the mess I'd got myself into, and at one point even descended into depression.

A question about : PrimePaydayUK.com CCJ and no longer in business

Going back in 2011 I received a CCJ for Ј200 from this company. I was away at the time hence didn't receive the court paperwork and a default judgement was granted. I did respond as soon as I discovered this and was not working at the time so offered Ј1 per month and have been paying this still to this day.

I have however gone to email them today to find out their website address is no longer working.

A question about : Getting Out Of Debt

Hi there,

I have got into debt overtime on various different cards etc, this is largely due to being unemployed a lot of last year and having no incoming money.

I now have a job and I am paying my way down.

A question about : Use my EF to pay off my OD?

I have a quick question....

At the moment I have Ј631 in my Emergency Fund.

I also have a Ј437 Overdraft.

Should I use most of my EF to pay it off and then start to pay back into it?

Or, should I leave it alone and just cut back on spends to get rid of the OD which is costing Ј6 a month.

Cutting back on spends to get my account to zero will take about 2-3 months.

A question about : Can I get defaults removed because of an illness?

I just wanted to ask. Is it possible to get debt agents and companies that I have a defaulted with on the past to remove it?

I was diagnosed with a serious illness that is degenerative and has left me disabled. For a while I didn't handle it well mentally. I consequently just dropped out of life. I ended up defaulting on two phone bills and an overdrawn bank account.

A question about : What to do with Ј30,000

Hi,

I was made redundant at the end of 2014 and with 24 years service and an enhanced redundancy package, I was fortunate to leave with Ј30,000 in my pocket.

Like most people we have loans and credit cards to pay off and the hope that this money would go some way to pay the majority of this debt off. Unfortunately I am yet to find a new job so day to day living is starting to eat into the redundancy.
