I'm starting a new diary as I felt my old was was demotivating me and I didn't enjoy posting in it. I do like being accountable to something though, so find a diary helps me keep focused on my goals and stop me boring DH with my ramblings!

A question about : misstara's debt diary 2014

Have been in debt for about 10 years (and been lurking on here for ages) but had kidded myself into thinking I was doing quite well - always making the minimum payments plus a little extra, occasional purchases on credit cards but generally plodding along ok.

Until last week I calculated that last year I managed to reduce my debt by Ј350 - yep that's Ј350 for the entire year which is roughly about the same amount that I pay towards my debts each month. Clearly I'm going to have to make some changes or be in debt forever!

Goodness me, it's been ever such a long time since I've been here! It seems I disappeared without a trace almost two whole years ago, and then life got in the way, and you know what it's like when you've been gone for so long, it's quite hard to come back...

A question about : My Debt Free Diary

Hey Guys,

I'm 19 years old and have been a fairly addicted gambler. Gambling most of my wages and then taking out payday loans to actually survive for the month. I'm behind on my phone bill and owe Ј120 as it's been suspended.

My mum found out last week and has sat me down to go through what i was spending, how much i get in etc.

She's bailing me out of this payday loan I defaulted on Ј170 and she's taking over my bank to hand me over money when i need it.

A question about : Can I do it?

Gosh, this actually feels quite exciting doesn't it?! I always thought we would take years and years to pay our debts off but now I'm wondering if we can actually do it in a year? I daren't get overexcited but it's got to be worth a go!
