A question about : Headache's Five Year Plan to Debt Freedom ... est. Feb 15

I'm sure I have had a dabble with a diary before but circumstances have changed slightly so we are starting afresh.

Just before Christmas 2014 Mr and I had a good chat about our future and it seemed possible that with some planning we could be debt free in five years, and be ready to sell up and move on. We had a few ideas of what we needed to do.

I've posted on here for a few years, but I've definitely been more of a lurker than a poster. We've managed to run up a credit card with a balance quite a bit larger than I'd like and clearing this is our first priority. We are also on interest only on our mortgage so we need to start overpaying this and trying to get some equity in the house.

A question about : The kick up the a&Јe diary for debt busting

Hi anybody who may read this. I've been inspired by so many people on mse since I joined and I've ummed and aahed about starting a diary for a while now. Im brilliant at deciding to set myself financial challenges...problem is when push comes to shove I come up with all the excuses under the sun as reason for why I've constantly fail miserably. So I decided to start a diary to give me the kick up the backside I need.If I log everything down Ill have to do it right? That's the thinking anyway.

And then I went and unlearned all my good habits and learn-y stuff and have started to wrack up the debt again. So it's back to basics, a sparkling new diary, and some tough love.

A question about : Need to get myself together: The beginning

Hi all

I am back. Short story, I was in this position before though holding a baby in my arms and his dad left us with a loan I got for him (I naively believed there was people after him) and such a bad overdraft. I managed to scrape it back and pay it all off and was on a high (figuratively) of being debt free.

Four years on I have been left (no baby this time) and foolishly beleived this guy was decent. No need to tell me off or should have known better, believe me I am my own worst enemy.

A question about : This debt must go

I've just been looking at my old diary which I actually started this time last year give or take a few days. It's out of date now so I thought I'd start a shiny new one ready for the mass assault on my debts in 2011.

Changes since this time last year? We are now living in our new house but we have added about Ј3k to our debts. (and a new mortgage which is not included in the debt figures)

A question about : Shifting this debt one Ј at a time.

Hey everyone

I'm back after being awol for a while. I completely lost my MSE mojo, life was getting in the way and the finances not improving.

I've been lurking around, but neglected my MSE friends and haven't really been posting.

I've decided I need to get back into it and focus again and hopefully some old and new friends will join me.
