A question about : Has anyone used an iPad to submit SA tax return?

Wondered if anyone has any expeience of using an ipad to submit their self assessment tax return. Is it possible to do?
Reason I ask is my desktop PC has broken down and yesterday I received my new one but its damaged and has to go back so I can't use it.
I'm hopeful I'll get a replacement by the end of the week but might not. I've got til 14 feb I believe to submit my tax return now they've sent me my online code.
If my desktop isn't delivered I may need to use my iPad.

A question about : How many years accounts to keep

Hi guys I used to think I had to keep 7 years accounts and have. However, I have just read it's only. 22 months so the 2013-2014 I have just submitted needs keeping until January 2016. Is this true. If so, can I shred all before 2011-2012? Thx in advance guys xx

A question about : My Aunts CGT liability on inherited property

Hi I wonder if someone on here can give me some advice relating to Capital Gains Tax. The scenario is a little complex, well in my head anyway lol... let me explain:

My aunt inherited her brothers property upon his passing in 2007. At the time of probate it was valued (Ј130000), there was a mix of shares and cash too and thankfully she wasn't liable for any Inheritance Tax (was under the IH threshold)

A question about : Childcare vouchers

Hi I wondered if someone could help us out I'm not sure how the Childcare vouchers work.
We are in a couple, both work, and have a 1 yr old child, don't qualify for tax credits. How do the vouchers work? We both work for companies which can offer vouchers so can we both claim them? How do we make double savings? We are hoping to send child to nursery which will be Ј72 per week. So do we just claim vouchers each for half the cost per week? So each get Ј36 per week/ Ј144 per month? Totally confused! Thanks.

A question about : Stamp Duty Rebate

Ok guys. Need some help here.

My property falls under the DAR stamp duty refund requirements. Last year I wrote to the HMRC (prior to the deadline) to claim the stamp duty back - and since that time thing have been going to and fro. The main issue is this:

Original house price: Ј154,950
Allowance/discount from developer: Ј9950,00
Total paid Ј145,000 ( under the DAR theshold )

A question about : Company Car Tax/Child Benefit

Hello All

Couple of queries.

I am a higher rate tax payer, earning about Ј43,000 a year with BIK car tax meaning I pay 40%.

First Question
My employer wishes to not have company cars anymore, meaning that a payment of Ј750 pcm (before tax) would be made.

This would therefore be Ј9,000 p.a. in taxable income.

The problem I then have is that this puts me over the Ј50,000 child benefit margin, meaning I lose some of that in tax.

A question about : Class 2 NIC exemption (SEE) and loss of state pension?

I'm employed full-time and pay tax and NI through PAYE.

I've just started (two days ago!) selling some greeting cards that I make in my spare time. It's just a little hobby thing - I'll be lucky to make a couple of hundred quid a year from this.

Obviously I now need tell HMRC and pay income tax on the profit, and possibly some NI.

Now comes the question. Because of the size, I'd only be liable for Class 2 NI and not Class 4. Class 2 = Ј2.75 a week.
