A question about : PhD support group?

Hi all,
There's been a few threads lately about people stressing about being PhD students and writing up and such things like that.

A thought that maybe we could have a virtual support group?

I'm reasonably lucky as I am a scientific type person and I see other people during the day but I have just over run my third year and am now frantically working (10+ hours a day..ouch) to finish so I can submit by January.

A question about : Dissertation motivation!

Anybody else out there struggling with their dissertation? I thought a support group might help us along a bit!

I'm currently sat in the library surrounded by journal reviews and highlighter pens and am very fed up. I've done my research and have got everything I need and really should start writing it up... but it's too big to start!

I'm until very recently was a manager of a University Advice Centre & also an Education & Welfare officer so you might be interested to know that there is FREE money available to quite a few students upto a maximum of Ј3,500 per academic year.

Most students at some point will have heard of the 'hardship fund'. This was re-branded the 'Access to Learning Fund' [ALF] a year`or so ago [it may be called something slightly different at every Uni].
