I started the buying process for my very first flat back in August, it's still going through the solicitors and my hope of getting the keys by the time my flat rental is up at the start of Dec is slowly fading. Oh well, everything but the clothes on my back into storage and off to the patents I will go. Figured I may as well start up a diary now to keep track of things

Have been glued to the screen of my tablet watching this forum for the last few weeks now and am fascinated. Would love to go on the same journey but have so many uncertainties at the moment that stop me from fully commiting to this.
In fairness I have been OPing my mortgage since day one and paid off 30k last year but that was mainly due to some savings maturing and I haven't got any more of these coming up

My husband and I have roughly Ј49k outstanding on our own house. About 5 years ago we threw lots of overpaments at this mortgage in order to decrease it but then decided that it was time to start planning for our old age and went ahead and saved hard for deposits for 3 BTL properties.
