IVA & DRO

A question about : DRO over 5 years ago...how long till I can change bank accounts?

I had to get a DRO in 2009 (August) and was told that for the 5 years following I'd not be able to get any credit and it would show on my credit score.

It's been over 5 years now. I've not tried to get credit, I have a PAYG mobile (I knew I'd get turned down if I tried to get a contract) and I've kept up with all my bills bar one occasion where a cheque bounced and so an outgoing payment was defaulted (old chequebook was the reason- nothing to do with me).

A question about : Equity release

I am totally confused, extremely stressed and at my wits end!!! I'm almost at the end of my IVA, paid in all my agreed contributions and now at the equity release stage.

In a nutshell,my property is valued at Ј297,800, so 85% of the value is Ј253,130 less a mortgage of Ј189,443 leaves equity of Ј63,687.00. Cleardebt, my IVA company, has stated that I need to pay Ј44,370.30 in order to settle my debts in full.

The arrival of 2015 has not only brought a year of new opportunity but has also presented me with the first time I can say, 'My IVA finishes next year'.

In reality I still have 15 months to go, but just the thought of knowing my IVA will finish in 2016 is a powerful psychological shift. When I started out on this journey in 2010, getting to the end seemed a lifetime away. Making those early payments felt almost pointless and futile when financial freedom was still such a distant goal.

A question about : 3 creditors not proven the debts

Hi,

I've been in my IVA for about 1 year and a half now with payplan.

I just received a random email out of the blue at 16.58 right before they close that 3 of my creditors are yet to prove the debts???

No explanation to what it is or whats going to happen, the IVA department closed at 17.00PM so i've had no chance to phone them and kind of worried now!

A question about : Basic bank account before or after?? DRO

I'm so sorry if this is answered somewhere I did search and found recommendations for basic bank accounts but I would like to know when about to enter a DRO is it better to open a basic bank account beforehand or after? If I open one before the DRO so I then need to inform barclays once I have the DRO in place?

A question about : DRO Lenders Still Showing as Default

Hi All,

I took out a DRO in Oct. 2011 and was discharged in Oct. 2012.

The lenders that I listed in my DRO are still showing as Default on my credit report as of Oct./Nov. last year, is that correct or can I write to these lenders and have the status changed?
