A question about : Getting Salad Down to Under 36p per Portion

Hi

I was making a salad, and worked out roughly how much it cost me for a single portion - 36.5p. Would like to try and get this lower, but might be a tough challenge.

Here is what was in one salad portion:

Wild Rocket - 8.5p
Red Onion (reduced) - 1.5p
Cherry Tomatoes (Tesco) - 15p
Courgette - 11p
Splash of Chilli sauce (giant bottle) - 0.5p

Total - 36.5p

A question about : M&S party food offer today

A bit late to post now but M&S had an offer today of buy 3 party foods and get a free bottle of cava - choice of white or rose priced at Ј8.

There was a large selection of meat and vegetarian ones - I got 2 packs of Oriental spring rolls (Ј5)and a pack of Indian snacks (Ј4) and a bottle of the rose cava - the foods went through on 3 for 2 which was unexpected so 3 lots of party food and cava cost me Ј11.

The snacks can be frozen too.

THE QUESTION - PART ONE

A question about : Wedding Cheese Cake

Hi, myself and my partner are planning our wedding, and we have decided to do away with the traditional wedding cake inplace of a much more satisfying wedding cake made of cheese. You've probably seen the kind before - a tower made up of wheels of different kinds of cheese.

You can buy these all over the place readymade,but they are typically in the region of Ј200+. I figure that they must be far cheaper to make yourself and shouldn't be that difficult.

A question about : 8 year old beef in Tesco?

We bought diced beef in Tesco, but after eating it I looked at the label and it says Slaughtered in IE 2007. Does this mean it is 8 years old, kept frozen then defrosted and cut up to be sold? It also says cut in IE533 and I was able to look that up - a meat processing factory run by Kepak Ltd in Ballymahon County Longford. Apparently full of Polish workers.
