Debt-Free Wannabe

A question about : I need your help.

Hello everyone.

I want to be debt free.

I have amassed just under Ј10,000 credit card debt over 4 different cards and its starting to be a real burden on me, though the problem is, I’m not technically struggling. I make the monthly payments and sometimes, where I can, I pay over the minimum requirement too.

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of big stuff that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym .

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

A question about : Advice wanted please, stick at it or Debt Management/IVA/Bankruptcy?

First time posting here hopefully this is the right place to ask for advice.

Basically to cut a long story short, I am at a crossroads with what to do. My debt levels have been spiraling for a few years now, I have been trying to manage it, but with one thing or another cropping up and distracting me it has now basically gotten to the point where its quite serious.

1st ever post and a little nervous don't even know why.
I got myself into huge debt of nearly Ј40k with loans credit cards overdraft and pay day loans , I went into a dmp nearly 2 years ago with a company I paid. I have now moved to Payplan i hope i have made a ok choice as not seen anyone speaking of them on here, Anyway i pay them 240 a month but i also owe 2 friends money which i pay 100 and 200 per month to and a guarantor loan of Ј57 ,

A question about : County Court Summons

Just received a summons for a 'debt' which I am pretty sure is Statute Barred. The problem is I can't find proof of this.

Do I simply file a defence to the effect that it is Statute barred and leave it to the Plaintiff to prove the details?

A question about : Help getting out of debt / improving credit rating

I am new to this forum and seeking some advice and help, I know numerous threads pop up each day which are very similar however was hoping for some help for my situation.

I have been looking to get into a better state with my credit rating, pay off debts I have had for years which i have always avoided. So recently speaking to my partner about debts, I'm 23 and the thought of not being able to get a mortgage/car ect due to being silly over the past few years and when i was younger.

Another year, another start.

Hopefully I will stick with it and make more of an effort this year.
There are a few things I need to get to grips with so I am going to jot down my plans and achievements and see how it goes. This diary will be my incentive.
