A question about : Refused Finance by Sofaworks? WHY!?

Hi Everyone,

I am new to this site and am wondering if anyone could shed any light on why I was refused finance by Sofaworks? I was looking to buy a sofa for our new place which we moved into in January (total came to about Ј40 a month for 4 years on their 0% free credit option).

I was advised that they tried 2 different companies for finance but both were refused!!! And I have no idea why?

A question about : Credit File and CIFAS Category 4

Just got a copy of my credit file and gone through it. I know from a SAR to CIFAS a couple of years ago that there was a Category 4 marker against me. I don't see this in my credit file at all - the CIFAS section though tends to talk about protective registrations ie general wording - and my overall credit score is good.

A question about : Someone to look at my credit report and tell me what they think

Someone to look at my credit report and tell me what they think, Ive been in a mess a few years ago but its all straightned out now, most of them come off this year but im wanting to get financially sorted and hopefully a mortgage.

Ive got the report i just dont know who would look at this?

A question about : Overdraft query

If I am in my overdraft most months, limit is Ј500 and i'm under this amount each month ?

Does this affect my credit score ?

A question about : mortgage advisor requiring copy of credit report

Good morning

we are currently applying for a mortgage through an FA, he has asked for us to send him full copies of our credit reports, a colleague is telling me you should NEVER provide a full copy to anyone - if they want to see it they can search it.

Can anyone advise? tia

A question about : Credit Check Advice

I've never really paid much attention to my credit history, never applied for anything substantial and never been rejected for anything I have applied for. Until today that is. I wanted to switch my current account over to Halifax as their account offered the best rewards for my level of income (and the Ј100 incentive wasn't exactly off putting) but when they ran their credit check I was told they couldn't even offer me an account with a VISA debit card.

A question about : False CCJ on file from insurance company

Last year I received notification from my car insurance provider Hastings Direct that another person had claimed I was involved in an accident with them on 31st December 2013. This accident was a false claim and was untrue. I informed Hastings of this and they agreed that they would have to investigate the claim further. Hastings failed to do this and this has now resulted in a CCJ against me that I have descovered this year. please help!

A question about : Multiple defaults on one account

My OH had a default on a CC from Alliance and Leicester in 2008. The account was brought back into order.

It was then taken over by MBNA who recorded a default in 2011.

Unbeknown to us, MBNA sold the debt to Moorgate. They never contacted him, presumably because he was paying a really hefty amount every month to try and clear it. It was Ј12,000 and is now almost clear.
