A question about : Defaults incorrectly added to my credit file

Hi there,

A few weeks back I applied for finance for a new car and was refused, which shocked me a little. I decided to log in to my experian credit report to see if anything had changed, which low and behold it had. Southern Water had listed a default on my account for Ј133.

A question about : CreditExpert application

Hi, I tried to sign up to the 30 free day trial for CreditExpert but was told they were unable to verify my identity. I was wondering what could be the reason for this, as I am on the electoral role, I've lived at my address for over 20 years and have no reason for any CIFAS flags on my account or anything like that. I had no problems signing up to CheckMyFile. Please let me know if anyone has any ideas, or is it just CreditExpert being extra cautious?

A question about : 5.5 year old CCJ / Mortgage application / Experian

Hi everyone,

I have a few questions that im hoping you may be able to help with. Firstly to sum up my situation. About five and a half years ago I got a ccj for Ј400 approx. I settled it immediately. Myself and partner are now looking to buy a home. We have about a Ј18k deposit. Combined we earn around Ј70k salary fairly equally split. Her credit has no prior problems and is strong.

The house we have seen we think will cost around 175k

A question about : Still paying DMP, defaults gone, Mortgage possible?

Hi guys, I have a few questions about my situation that I'd be grateful if you could help me with?!
I had about Ј25k worth of debt (hasn't dropped much either) and in 2003 I entered a paid DMP when my work situation changed and I couldn't afford the repayments.

A question about : Should i still be getting defaulted?

First time poster but after recently checking my credit rating i came across 2 companies (Nextcredit, Payday Express) are defaulting me.

I was on a DMP which ended in April last year after completing my payments for the DMP. Nextcredit & Payday Express where someone of my creditors but they where payed off just like my others.

After five years of being together and getting married and moving how many number of times due to renting, we are now approaching a period i.e debt free where we can start to save for a house deposit and finally look to buy our own home.

A question about : Does PPI bank admission improve Credit score

Hiya i have been paying off debt through DMP for over 5 years. I have however just had a bank admit to PPI and a 9k refund . With this admission and the amount playing a large chunk of the debt can i have my credit score improved ?

• Would you still be in default without the PPI part of the debt? If so it won't make any difference really.

A question about : Cifas

A friend of mine has been getting a few surprise declines for current accounts recently after normally being accepted with no problems. These came after one bank decided to close his accounts down. He has checked his credit file with CallCredit and Noddle and there are no CIFAS warnings shown. I was just wondering if it is possible to have a CIFAS warning regsitered on just one CRA or would it show on them all?

• As far as I know any CIFAS markers would be reported to all 3 CRAs.
