A question about : Can't understand why I've been auto enrolled

I got a letter today to say that I have recently met the criteria of earning over Ј9,400 so I've been auto-enrolled but I only earn just over half that.

When I e-mailed them to enquire they said I'd done enough overtime to trigger it but I found a website that says you have to earn over Ј787 per month but the most I've earned in the past 12 months is Ј554.

I took the letter into work today and they're looking into it because they can't understand it either. Any ideas?

A question about : NEST Growth

I'm setting up a spreadsheet to hopefully accurately predict what my pension pot could be in 30 years time, and was wondering what growth I could expect from my NEST pension, net of any fees.

My pot is currently invested in the NEST Higher Risk fund. I have the fund factsheet from 2013, but mentions nothing about anticipated growth.

Can anyone advise a base figure?

A question about : Opt out of auto enrollment

I have a stakeholder pension which I pay into via my employer. I am the only employee in this particular scheme. Everyone else is in a different scheme.

With auto enrollment all employees including me will be auto enrolled into the main scheme.

I am thinking of opting out asap after being auto enrolled and asking my employer to continue paying into my existing stakeholder pension. My employer does not think they can do this I.e. they think they have to be in an auto enrollment scheme or not in anything at all.

I'm 60 in Oct and have a pension pot of approx Ј49,000. The pension is one I had with a company I worked for for 12 years, I no longer work for them. I would like to repay my mortgage as soon as possible and would like to know how I go about releasing this money, who do I approach in the first instance?

A question about : Change of Employer/Pension Pot

This is my first ever post after years of snooping. Apologies if my question is 'daft' however I don't understand pension schemes very well at all.

I was auto enrolled into a pension scheme with my previous employer (private sector) and this took place from 1st of August 2013. I have since changed employers and now work in the public sector and have been enrolled into the LGPS as of March 2014.

A question about : Company charging me for opting out of auto enrolement pension

Hi,
I have opted out of the auto-enrolement pension at work, but they are charging me 2% of my salary each month for admin costs!!! No money is being paid into the pension by me or the company so can they do this?
I had no idea when i opted out that this would be the case.
If I opt in I have to pay a 4% contribution minimum and at present I cant afford it so opted out. But I may as well opt back into it if 2% is being thrown down the drain anyway

A question about : Probably a silly question but regards to law

So I am currently at a large company that does a work place pension, I am considering going to another company with offices based in the UK (London). I remember I asked before I went on holiday about the benefits, and specifically pension. They said I need to have worked there for 2 or 3 years to have one. Now, that struck me as way too long and odd but ignored it. I've come back from holiday and now as things are moving along, I started thinking about it again.
