Go for index linked income or invest lump sum

A question about : Go for index linked income or invest lump sum

Hi,
I am 55 and about to retire. My final salary pension has a lump sum of Ј50 000, I can take Ј25 000 of this to increase my annual income by Ј2 000- this is index linked. That to me sounds like a good deal!
I Know I am over simplifying things but would investing the lump sum give a better return?

A question about : Now that I've opted out, SIPP?

As I work for five different agencies and earn small amounts from each, I decided to opt out of the one agency ( getting the least work from it) that had auto-enrolled me.

Auto enrolment and part time workers not paying tax

A question about : Auto enrolment and part time workers not paying tax

The company I work for have told us that we will all be autoenrolled very soon. The majority of the staff in our store work 20 hours per week on nmw and don't earn enough to pay tax. This includes myself. It was my understanding after reading the flyers that this auto enrollment only applied to those earning over ~Ј7.5k.

NEST vs company stakeholder

A question about : NEST vs company stakeholder

Hi everyone

My company will start auto-enrolment in the next few months.
They already had an existing stakeholder scheme which I didn't join but they have now converted that to an auto-enrolment qualifying scheme. I did look into stakeholders a couple of years ago when I was self-employed but the annual fees seemed quite high and I never really felt it was worth it unless an employer was contributing as well.

Opting out

A question about : Opting out

My sincere apologies as this has probably been asked before.

As soon as my current job became stable (contract changed from fixed term to indefinite/permanent) I set up a stakeholder pension with Scottish Widows which I have paid into every month for the past 8 years.
