A question about : Overpay Mortgage or Pension

I have just agreed a new 10 year fixed rate deal at 3.99% on a 205K mortgage over 20 years. I am allowed to make 5% overpayments. I am in a position to over pay by several hundred Јs per month however all of this income is in the 40% tax band and a good chunk takes me over Ј50K which hits our CB.

A question about : Final payment made!

Today I am delighted to say we have made our final payment on this debt free journey! In total we have repaid Ј10,092.14 to 2 overdrafts and 3 credit cards over 9 months. We have also paid off our sofa finance.

While we are not totally debt free – we still have a car loan and a mortgage – we have freed ourselves up so much more than we ever thought possible. Over the past 9 months we have been paying on average Ј1100 a month to our unnecessary debts! Crazy!

A question about : free alternative to YNAB, and it's great

hi, loads of people keep recommending YNAB, but if anyone wants a recommendation of a free one, I have been using this one, FREE for nearly a month now. Love it it works so much better,looking at this rather than the bank balance.

When you move and are on a DMP, do you need to inform the creditors of your new address or do SC do this?

A question about : Council Tax Liability Order, after I paid!

So a couple months ago I received a Leeds City council tax bill from a previous address I left in June 2013. It was just a final tax bill of Ј32.06. I figured it was not a big issue and I'd pay it on pay day. Whacked it in a drawer and forgot about it.

anyone used these or know anything about them, there a company that claim to help you get interest frozen and charges, make it so you pay the companys all you can afford, and consolidate your payments into one manageable payment, just after some advice on them/this route of dealing with debt cheers for any reply

A question about : Early settlement figure on a loan

I am in default with a loan, and was in default at the time of requesting an early settlement figure for this loan (in default by about 2 years)

I had the option of paying this amount off at the time, but obviously couldn't afford to.

My confusion is that ever since, they've been chasing me for the amount including the interest. Can I dispute this amount? I have the letter with the figures on at the time, which I could send them a copy of.

It was basically 10% off the loan (interest).
