A question about : How long can you be chased for a debt

Hi guys out of the blue today I have got a letter telling me that I need to get in touch about a debt which I have not idea about as it is from a former address which I`ve not lived at for 13+yrs .Question is can they chase me for anything or is it statute barred?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of big stuff that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym .

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

A question about : Sticking to budgets spreadsheets

Hi, I am looking to clear Credit Card debt as soon as possible. I would like to overpay as and when I can. I wonder if anyone has a spreadsheet that I could use to add my regular monthly incoming and outgoing payments from my bank account so I could work out available 'spendable' balance at certain times through out the month and I could track 'future outgoings' without going overdrawn please? Here is a bit of bumf about my situation.
my dh and I have been on a dmp with step change for a few years now and one of our debts was with egg up until a year or two again we were steadily chipping away at said debt until suddenly step change contacted us saying the payment was being returned?! We tried to contact egg and basically spent several months on a wild goose chase trying to find out what had happened to this debt (assumably sold).

A question about : Help with overdue HMRC penalties

Hi there, and thanks for reading my post. I'm in a bit of a mess... basically I owe Ј2576 in penalties to HMRC for not filing my tax return. I don't know what to do, but I'm sure I did file it correctly. I've been in the USA for well over a year due to a family illness and have returned to this huge bill.

Do I just write to them and explain the situation? There's no way I can pay all of this, and it seems ridiculous that this entire bill is late fees.
