A question about : tax credits stopped

hello.
Back in June i was asked to send documents to Belfast for a compliance check. I had to send a lot of stuff -job contracts,tv licence,car ins payslips and my renewal paperwork for my tax credits claim. I did this and didn't hear anything back from them. Then the tax credits office wrote to me and told me as I hadn't sent THEM the renewals pack they had stopped my claim. This was stopped on 18th aug.

My son is in full time college education & is 18 years old.
He would like to get a P/T job to start saving for his future.
Will this impact our family's tax credits, housing benefit, council tax benefit etc
Basically what we want to know is do his earnings count towards the family pot or are they considered as separate ?

A question about : Benefits Advice please, a bit long & complicated!

I’m new to this forum so I hope I’m posting in the right place! I’m looking for some benefits advice please – it’s a bit of a complicated situation and I’ve never claimed benefits before.

Partner and I are British – we returned to the UK in Jan this year after living abroad for 8 years. Bought a house locally & have spent all year renovating it, hope to move into it in a couple of months (it’s still uninhabitable).

A question about : What can I claim

After 10 yrs in France we are returning to UK for family reasons.
We were totally up to date with N/I before we left but ceased to pay voluntary contributions.
I still have a copy of the E106 that was issued to us as this was proof we had paid all N/I.
We have managed to buy a house and have approx 5000 as back up until we can find jobs.
My husband was S/E before we left but we will all ask for JSA as he will look for a job.
My son who is now 18 needs a N/I number.

A question about : Been made redundant: where do I go from here?

My company have relocated my department and have made me redundant. I was on maternity leave until last month so it came into effect when my mat leave ended.
They offered me a new position in another department but it would have meant a large drop in pay and wouldnt have made financial sense.
They have paid me 12 weeks pay (capped at the national figure of approx Ј400 per week for 12 weeks), plus 12 weeks notice (taxed) and unused holidays (taxed)

A question about : The time has come to as for advice!

Hello all.

I'm in a pickle and hoping someone can help or advise me what I can do. I hope I'm in the right place.

Currently I'm claiming JSA and have been since Nov 2010. Now I know some will instantly think jobless bum, waste of space etc but this is not the case. For 5 years up to Nov 2010 I was working as a Bus Driver. One evening I took a fall at the depot and long story short got a payout, thereafter life was made very difficult for me by the company and I left due to the injury and incessant hassle.
