A question about : Things I MUST cook tomorrow!

After a quick reccy of the fridge I've got

50g Mexican cheese
1 x butternut squash
1 x melon
Chicken thighs
1 x sage roasted butternut squash (m and s can't be frozen so will need to be eaten tomorrow)
Spinach
1 x gem lettuce very tired looking

3 heads of brocolli which are yellowing

I really would like to use this all up tomorrow but struggling for ideas. I can cook something and reheat for Monday's lunch and dinner but all the above needs to be used.

Eggs from Shops

A question about : Eggs from Shops

They all have a date stamped on them, don't they?

Makes me wonder why Sharif from Corrie hasn't noticed this when his son is putting shop bought eggs in his chickens' coop?

Gas Hob heats up pans slowly

A question about : Gas Hob heats up pans slowly

    Hi All,

I had a Neff Gas cooker hob when I bought my house 12 years ago which cooks food nicely.

18 months ago, I had a handyman in my house to fix things for me and I ask him if he can change the Cooker hob for me and he said Yes. I rushed to B&Q and bought a cheap hob for Ј80 and he changed it for me.

I changed it because I needed a newer looking hob, but since then the heating up pans and pots have been very, very slow. Even frying an egg takes a while.

    Microwave pressure cooker

A question about : Microwave pressure cooker

Am posting here as I think it may get lost on existing pressure cooker threads on OS.

This new contraption is said to save oodles of time, which is great for the busy or terminallly lazy (ie me title=Embarrassment). Imagine making soup in a few minutes without risk of burning, all the smell involved in anything that requires constant stirring etc!

    estimating mashed potato

A question about : estimating mashed potato

I am sure that there are some OS people here who know!

Community get-together this evening - I have been given a large dish (about 30cms square & 15 deep) to slightly over-fill with mashed potato (ooh, we know how to do Valentines!).
I am thinking that I will peel & quarter enough potatoes to fill this dish one-&-a-half times and that will give me the right amount.

I think that it is to feed about 25 people, so I'll double check on numbers of potatoes as I go.
