Wilko Home Sale

A question about : Wilko Home Sale

Products to clean and freshen the home.

No great shakes unless you are having a massive spring clean - most of the products are discounted in the supermarket. Febreze candles look ok though, Domestos is also a reasonable price.

Heron Foods/Farmfoods Freezer Shops -spot any good buys?

A question about : Heron Foods/Farmfoods Freezer Shops -spot any good buys?

I am lucky enough to have a branch of Heron Foods in my town. It's a discount freezer chain, similar to Farmfoods (but a bit better in my opinion). It stocks heavily discounted brand names and unbranded foods at rock bottom prices.

In the spirit of the 'Good/Bad Buys at Aldi/Lidl' thread, I thought I'd start a thread focusing on these stores, so that we can share news of good buys.

The Great 'shrinking food' Hunt Revisited

A question about : The Great 'shrinking food' Hunt Revisited

The Great 'shrinking food' Hunt Revisited

We featured this hunt back in 2010 (see original thread), but it seems manufacturers are up to their old tricks again by dropping products' sizes while keeping prices the same (one forumite's spotted loaves of bread dropping from 800g to 750g). We want to know which foods you've seen shrinking in size, but not in price.

        Are you sure it shrunk?

        Great 'disguised Own Brand' Hunt.

A question about : Great 'disguised Own Brand' Hunt.

You walk into the supermarket and see four levels of brands. But are M&S Jaffa cakes really made by McVities? Is there a difference between Tesco and Kellogs Bran Flakes? (see the Downshift Challenge section of the Money Diet for more info on this)
