  • Good morning all, just another day at work!
  • ease ? last year we had a great holiday in Jamaica til we travelled home we were supposed to be transferred at 12.45 lunch time we checked the transfer folder that twice that morning to find 12.45 was the time at 11.30 we decided to check out of our room to find a small A4 piece of paper on the huge reception desk stating that we were delayed to 18.45 obviously we understood that delays happen but having checked the folder twice we were annoyed so tried to find our rep who was at another hotel my partner went to the hotel next door and managed to find him as we had checked out and had 7 hours to spend with no room he called our reception and managed to get us a half price afternoon room! kinda thought that should be free but cost me $30 U.S ! so 18.30 comes we and other annoyed people on our flight turn up at reception for the rep to say its gonna be another hour delay on our transfer! frustrated we waited til 19.30 we got picked up and told our flight was at 11.00 pm we got to the airport and checked our bags in to find our flight was at midnight our original flight time was 17.00 ? we boarded and were told by the captain that we were delayed because of the day befores flight had a mechanical fault! thoughts please ?
  • Welcome to the forum.
Thoughts? post on relevant airline thread for a start?
  • Seems we can no longer refer forum posters to your thread JP, I've had a post removed by the MSE FORUM TEAM 3 which referred the poster to this thread see all the edits https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/....php?t=5176686
My post referring to this thread has been completely removed.
  • Tried to PM the forum team to get some advice, but was advised that the forum team do not receive PM's.
The only alternative is to not respond at all if referencing this thread breaks forum rules and regulations.
  • I don't understand. What was in JP's post/thead? And why has it been removed?
  • Vauban,
I replied to a new thread with a link to this one, as all the regulars do, my post was removed not JP's.
Some forum members, thought linking to this thread was less than helpful, I fail to see anything wrong in linking to this thread, but I guess MSE forum team 3 do, so for me personally I won't be responding to any new threads, that I feel would be best placed on a specific airline thread.
I'm resisting taking my bucket and spade home, but like I say a link to the advice by JP at the start of this thread, is a perfectly valid thing to post, just my opinion.
  • Is this the same forum team that do so much to keep the forum tidy and ordered, and enable key documents to be used as stickies? Oh wait ...
  • OK! So I have read the guidelines for posting on the correct thread and still unsure as to where to post my original thread regarding a flight delay compensation! It says to post on the relevant airline but where is that??? HELP PLEASE!!
  • Well it seems to not matter anymore,
But to get the best advice post on the airline thread, who was your flight with? And I'll post a link for you
  • Our airline was Thompson! I cant seem to find the correct thread that I need to post on! I'm new to all this so its very confusing! Many thanks for your help!
  • The Thomson thread is here:- https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/....php?t=4384699
    Good luck
  • Thank you so much! that's really helpful! Thompson have already wrote to me and told me they were not going to compensate me so I wrote back but I will win! Are you having trouble with Thompson also?
