A question about : Word picture help?

Hi, my boyfriend is just finishing his exams and i've racked my brains as to what to get him as a little present and i've came up with the word picture.
However...
I am unable to afford the prices that people charge for them. Does anyone have any idea how you make them? Any tips?
Thanks x

  • I've wondered this as well! I can't seem to find any links to anything, maybe I'm not searching the right words though?
I did see a woman on fbook who does these styles of prints, think it was Ј10 delivered, or Ј7.50 emailed. Not sure if I'm allowed to post sellers names though?? It's Prints by Tommy's Mammy, I will delete this if I'm not allowed! Never bought anything from her, but they look nice
  • I'll have a look for that seller, i bought one off a seller on facebook framed in a good quality frame but i think it was around Ј20 which i can't really afford at the moment. I might see if i can download a programme and have a fiddle, see if i can come up with something
  • I'm not sure exactly what a word picture is and what you are looking for but there are several sites that will make "word clouds" for free. They may be of some use to you.
  • You can make one yourself using this website https://www.tagxedo.com/
  • I've used tagxedo as well. If you cannot export the image to your photo software, in order to print, I used this trick:
    1. Use tagxedo's full-screen preview mode, as it shows the tag cloud very large.
    2. Hit the PrtScn button (on a Windows PC, not sure about Macs) to take a copy of what is on the screen.
    3. Go to your image editing program, and use 'paste' (try the Edit menu at the top).
    4. Use a 'crop' tool to select the bit of the image you want, and get rid of the bits round the edge.
    5. Save as a PNG type file if you can, as that will preserve the sharp edges better than JPG.
    5. It should print out nicely at A4 size or smaller (larger than that and you may see jagged lines).
I buy Ј3 pictures frames from The Range to go with them. Just check the joins at the corners are tight and neat.
  • I use Tagxedo too & it gives you the option of saving in different formats e.g. Jpeg/png etc when you have finished. Can't remember where the option to save is - possibly on the left hand side but it does come up in lots of formats & MB sizes. Then you just save to your desktop or picture folder etc.
Save as a large (i.e. lots of pixels) size jpeg & the picture can be used on Artscow.com. Made some great things using tagxedo pictures
