A question about : who do you book package holidays with?

morning all!
can finally afford a holiday abroad for me and ds this year (within reason)..
I'd like to book all through one place, in case I make a mistake along the way.
So, I'd like to go to Menorca/Majorca in july, half board, and want flights and transfers to/from hotel all sorted out.
who/where do you recommend?

thanks title=Smile

  • While the obvious options are Thomas Cook, Thomson, Cosmos etc. It's worth looking at British Airways, there you can book a Flight and Hotel package. The advantage of this can be that you could possibly opt for an unusual number of days (rather than the standard 7, 10 or 14), this might give better flight times. You will need to arrange your own transfers but you simply google "Mallorca airport transfers" and you'll be presented with many pretty cheap options.
Remember Topcashback on BA and transfers.
  • oh, thanks for that, that's really useful, and I LOVE using topcashback!
  • I use Jet2, low deposit and always seem to have a sale on
  • I second jet2 holidays we have booked 3 holidays package deals with low deposits never really had any problems part from 30 min delay staff seem to be polite and checking in is fast
  • Iv been using thomas cook. Prices have been coming in very reasonable and low deposit of Ј25
  • I've only ever booked with Thomas cook and teletext and can say I would never book with either again. I usually package my own as it is often cheaper but found some good deals with those companies however there have always been numerous problems from the moment I booked with both.
I've never had an issue when I've packaged my own.
  • Never had a problem with thomas cook. Had problems with thomson tho on our xmas holiday.they moved us to a different hotel then forgot to send the transfer to pick us up. Luckily the transfer bus came for people who had book with thomas cook, so we jumped on that one
  • I second BA. I've got scheduled flights to Florida and hotel for just a little more than with Thomsons charter flights.
  • A lot depends on where you are or where you're willing to fly from.
I've used Jet2Holidays several times and had no reason to complain. The flights from Leeds / Manchester are usually well-timed and they have always been competitive on price.
  • Have frequently in the past used both Thomson and First Choice and have always had good service and great hotels.Never had any reason to grumble.
Travelled once to Majorca with Thomas Cook...never again. The hotel was fab but the Thomas Cook reps were complete clowns and ruined more than one excursion with antics more befitting the 18-30 crowd rather than family groups. The airline was not much better.
These days prefer to travel independently.
  • Normally I use a local travel company!!
  • I've booked with Thomas, Destinology and others before. Recently I stumbled upon on holiday-time.co.uk and they obviously offer all the same just for less. I've travelled twice, booked package once and the other time a hotel in Chiang Mai, and all was great... Just less money spent. Have a look.
That's the problem with big companies - you sometimes just pay for the name and their massive overhead
