A question about : Which is best Condenser Boiler to buy?

I am looking to buy a new gas condenser boiler and would appreciate any tips or advice as to which is the best one to buy and what to look for.

Best answers:

  • We had a Worcester Bosch condensing boiler installed 18 months ago and it's been excellent.
I did a lot of research into it before committing myself and the two makes that kept on coming up with positive feedback were Worcester Bosch and Vailant. Both of which are German.
  • Best at what?
For the most efficient boiler, you can check on the SEDBUK database. The database does not, however, consider reliability or cost.
  • The guy who services my boiler recently told me the best boiler you can get is veissmann. He said they have half the number of engineers of other companies because they simply don't need them! He's a Vaillant specialist, and said they've had alot of problems with them recently.
  • Sorry forgot to say always serviced the boiler the boiler at the correct time, i.e current one every 2 years. Its just been serviced.
  • I recently had a Ariston 3300025 Micro Genus 24HE Condensing Combi Boiler put in, havent had a problem with it.
  • I'm looking to buy a central heating system & been advised that a Worcester Condensor would be good and will cost Ј3K to install fully - terrace hse 3 beds + attic. Any thoughts re if this is a good deal or what the Worcester is like please?
  • I too am looking to replace my existing condenser boiler, but this is more by way of warning people about the defficiences in my current boiler. We have an Ideal Response 120, which is only 5 years old. From day one, we have had issues with it and have had to call in an engineer to fix it 2 or 3 times a year. According to the engineer, who I completely trust and has an excellent reputation, the problems are caused by bad design, leading to issues with overheating and damage to the pump, which has been replaced 3 times now. According to him, more recent Ideal models do not offer any better reliability. Any dealings I have had with Ideal have been very frustrating and generally unsatisfactory. Customer Service appears to be very low on their priority list. Apologies for the 'negative' slant of this message, but if it saves others from going through the same issues, then my job here is done.
  • i just had a worcester 30si combi fittted after many recommendations, my parents have had a worcester combi for 9 years and its been 100% reliable.
the hot water flow on mine is excellent, and the radiators are really hot.
  • I concur with Wavey Dave. 12 months ago we had a Potterton Puma with the "replace control board every 18months" feature.
In Jan 08 we swapped it for a Veissman and have never looked back. The weather compensation means the house has a constant temperature and it has saved 15% running costs on the Potterton
  • i just paid Ј120 for the boiler and living room fire to be serviced and i was very pleased - corgi registered guy and i got all the paperwork. I'm in the northwest.
had a Baxi Combi Condenser 105he put in a couple of yrs ago and had no prbs at all.
