A question about : What's the story of your life?

What famous events have happened in your lifetime? If you're not sure, the BBC has created a handy tool to show you all the major headlines since the day you were born.

Best answers:

  • Hmm, it began when I was old enough to vote. I can remember that! I bet everyone has the same items, as it just tells you "you were 37 years, 3 months and 2 days" when the miners' strike ended, for instance. So did everyone else in their 60s get Wilson, Heath, first London Marathon, 9/11, Michael Jackson ....? Oh well, it was only 2 minutes of my life.
  • Yet another 'Facebook/Twitter etc.' only site.
Am I alone in not having the slightest interest in being on Facebook, Twitter etc. I actually still speak to people so have no need of these, to me anyway, time wasting and insecure gimmicks. What I find annoying is the fact that, as with this BBC site, and some competitions, access is only allowed via Facebook, Twitter etc. This should be made illegal (much like the need to buy a product to enter a competition).
  • I had no issue getting in without Facebook/Twitter login.
Underneath the facebook button is a link that says login without facebook.
    Hardly a scandal.
  • It was disappointing, but then it did describe itself as a taster! I expect I'll get inundated with stuff now, though
  • That's almost a bit depressing...before I was born Space Shuttle Challenger accident and when I was a baby Piper Alpha inferno..!!
Why was I born in the late 80s?
And why the exact age I was when September 11 happened? 15 years 4 months etc?
And when I was 21 British Army left NI.
And when I was 18 the Might Boosh - one of the least depressing one out of all the disasters that seemed to rock my childhood.
  • Do we really need a tool to discuss a famous event in our lifetime?
    I'll kick off....
I remember meeting a pop group called Bad Manners and said I just loved their new song; "House of Fun". There was a breif gap of silence as Busta replied, "Naah thats Madness Mate". At least he still gave me his autograph.
Of course it didn't make the papers. But I am sure the things that did I can easily Google these days.
