A question about : What is a package?
I just booked what I thought was a package holiday, flights and hotel etc, with onthebeach.co.uk. When I got the confirmation though it says that it's holidays are not a package and are not covered by the Package regulations. I think this is all a bit underhand. The deposit they have taken is Ј415, which I can't afford to lose. Does anyone think I can get this back if I cancel?
Best answers:
- Regretably 'no' On the Beach operates just like Travel Republic, they never sell package holidays, they do not hold an ATOL licence which promises a refund if the business goes bust. Somewhere, before you clicked 'buy' they will have told you that you are buying components, underhand, maybe especially if you want a guarantee backed by the government, but illegal, at the moment 'no'

Also agree with what Nico26 says. - From the OTbeach website
Here at On the Beach, our aim is to help you find your ideal cheap holidays by searching more than 30 million airline seats and 30,000 hotels worldwide. We don't sell package holidays; we let you choose the flight and hotel separately so that you get the best cheap holidays to suit your requirements and, more importantly, your budget
