A question about : We Fight Any Claim,are they just after money??

Hi,
Not sure if I have put this is the right part of this website but my partner recieved a phone call a few days ago from the above people to say he is owed over Ј3,000 PPI,s and they can get it for him.
However to do this he would have to pay Ј470 first.He asked why couldnt they get him the money first and then he would pay the Ј470 out of that,they replied that preciously clients dont pay the money back to them.
I dont think he will part with so much money upfront but does anyone know if its worth him paying first and hoping for the PPI money back once hes paid the Ј470?
Any help is appreciated and sorry if Ive put this question in the wrong place.Thanks.

• Stay away from this company. They've swindled about Ј600 out of my (unwell) mother, and are after another Ј280. Haven't seen a penny of the PPI money they promised.
• Thanks for that copperboom,I was thinking it sounds too good to be true.
  So far he hasnt said yes but I,ll show him this,trouble is they are ringing every day to talk to him which isnt good.
  Just hope he has the gumption to say no to them,many thanks copperboom

  1. If it sounds to good to be true - it isn't true! and,
  2. Never, EVER pay somebody to do something you can do for yourself, PPI reclaims, Debt Management co's the lot - you can deal with these issues yourself, especially with the help available on these boards.

• Hes decided to stay away neverletitgetyoudown,he thought it was too good to be true and it seems it is.It was borderline whether he was going to take his chance with them but Ј470 is way too much to take a chance,,many thanks to everyones advice.
• A terrible scam company, they took my money and never did any of the work so I asked for a refund but they kept transferring my calls and cutting me off, in the end I had to take legal action to get my money back from them.
• A handy hint. If you have an android phone, you can download a handy FREE ap called Mr Number which allows you to block calls and texts to your mobile from anyone not in your contacts list. This will stop the texts and calls along the lines of "According to our records, you may be entitled to compensation for the PPI you were mis-sold/the accident you had etc."
  Just remeber to include the number you dial to access voicemail in your contacts list, otherwise it will block texts telling you you have voicemail.
• Hi there, Ive just had a call from this company which I stupidly answered and went through all the info with them and apparently Im entitiled to over Ј10000 in claims. I then asked how much this would cost and the guy got a bit ratty about how it wasn't how much you paid out but how much you got back. I said there was no way i cld afford. On reading reviews on this company it has made me uneasy. I didn't give them the go ahead and or my bank details, I am really annoyed at the way they go on and then reading the reviews!!!! When they call back I will be telling them where to go......
• Hi there did you give them your bank details to pay them to go ahead before cancelling your claim. I found the guy I spoke to get really ratty when i showed no interest!!!!!
• advance fee fraud uses the greed of a potential big figure as you get a pay off to encourage you to make a smaller figure payment up front.
  Ask yourself how they know you are entitled to Ј10k when a) there is no such entitlement and b) your personal data to make that sort of comment is not in the public domain.
  Is it more likely that the carrot of a Ј10k payout will make you more likely to pay them an up front figure first?
