A question about : wannabe in need of advice, pls read

ok, bit lengthy but please read, opinions on a postcard...

In 2010 I was banking with the natiowide and had been for some years, (under 18's account etc) As I was refused an overdraft and wasnt always able to get to the bank to lodge money I was constantly going into an unauthorised overdraft which was costing me Ј30 a time, this happened on numerous occassions and eventully I switched banks to the halifax as they were able to offer me an overdraft facility.

during this time I moved into rental accomodation with my partner and my new born son, my postal address was however still at my mothers,I had charges still owed on my nationwide account and I called nationwide to pay these charges over the phone with a debit card, once the payment had been made I asked was the account cleared and I was told it was and no more charges were owed.

As the nationwide account was still open but not being used to be honest I wasnt opening the statements as I wasnt using the account. The next thing I know I have recieved a letter from a collection agency on behalf of nationwide, when I rang to queery this I was told there were other charges which had rolled over from I last paid, I wasnt made aware of these charges at the time and was infact told there were none. These charges amounted to the sum of Ј22.

I paid the Ј22 right away and the account was then settled, it was only with me registering with credit expert that I was made aware that I have a default placed on my account for that sum of Ј22. As you can imagine this is making it particularly difficult for me to obtain credit, as my partner is now expecting my 2nd son, we are viewing houses with the intention to buy and i'm extremely worried that this default will prevent us from doing so.

I contacted nationwide via telephone and explained the situation and I was told as the telephone calls werent recorded it could not be proved that the member of staff told me there were no more charges

im writting a letter to nationwide but to be honest im not expecting much, whats my chances of it being scrubbed?
