A question about : Wales is where.............

Wales is where Miss lives and Fran, so I think it is full of clever and important people.............and I didn't like seeing 'Never' next to threads for the Wales board.

My tip for Wales is a wildlife one. We've stayed in New Quay on the Ceredigion Heritage Coast. There (used to be) are regular sightings of bottlenose dolphins. You don't need to go out on a boat, we've sat on the harbour wall and watched the dolphins.

Best answers:

  • aww Nile you've brought back some lovely memories
hubby and I spent a week in New Quay Wales in 1990 and always look back on that as a wonderful trip
  • I'm going camping in Wales this summer, I live in Bristol and believe it or not have only ever been to Cardiff, and once to the Gower when I was a kid. I would love to explore the Pembrokeshire coast but our camping trip is actually at a lovely site called Fforest Fields in Builth Wells, Powys.
  • tiff
you are less than an hour and a half from the coast, so could think about a daytrip maybe
  • Dont forget that theres also North Wales ! here in N.wales we often say that there's only one Wales... South ! but thats not true, north Wales is also beautiful, we have a lovely coastline plus we have one of the longest names in the world 'Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerynchwyndrobwllsantysilio gogogoch'.Try saying that after a couple of drinks !! Plus we speak a different Welsh to the South.
  • and Snowdonia........
  • Just to repeat the bit about New Quay, i often go there and never fail to see Dolphins, sit by the tourist infirmation and look out to sea (obviously!) and sooner or later you will spot some.
Take time to travel down the coast a little to lovely places like Llangrannog and Mwnt.
  • The Heads of the Valleys is rather stunning too - I've just moved up from Newport to Blaenavon and there are the most amazing views from on top of the Blorenge into the Usk valley and over towards Abergavenny (on a clear day of course!!) It's almost enough to make me start walking - at least when the evenings are a bit lighter for longer!!
  • spelling spot on fran except it's all one word
    LLANFAIRPWLLGWYNGYLLGOGERYCHWYRNDROBWLLLLANTYSILIO GOGOGOCH
and learn how to pronounce it here
definitely somewhere to visit if you are on the island of Anglesey
  • I remember as a child winning a competition in school for reciting Llanfair.... the quickest.
A lot of help came from the fact I was the only entrant.
