A question about : Vodafone not reimbursing me due to their error

Vodafone called me about an upgrade 4 months before my upgrade date and the agreement was made that payments for the new contract would not start until the previous contract had ended so i went ahead with the agreement. One month passes and i am billed for the new contract. I have had to constantly call up customer services and have been led on a merry go round and nothing has been sorted. Called up today to find out that they are not willing to do anything even though they recognise it was a mistake on their part and will not refund me any amount. Their reason is I did not realise the mistake earlier on my contract, but no contract was sent out to me.
Does anyone have any advice for me, would be greatly appreciated.

Best answers:

  • Firstly, learn the lesson and never ever agree to anything that anybody cold-calling you offers. Tell them to !!!! off and then hang up.
Secondly, stop wasting your time on phone calls to Voda. There is no a single competent person in their front-line CS. They are good only in fobbing customers off or making things worse.
Find their complaints procedure, complain in writing, then complain to the ombudsman if needed.
If Voda's web reps picks this thread up, follow their instructions. They are the only few people at Voda capable of doing something useful and reasonable. However, don't hold your breath as even they can't clean all mess in this shambolic company.
Alternatively, contact them proactively like they advise in endless complaints threads here, e.g. Vodafone complaints
When your contract comes to end think twice, then think twice again before committing to yet another long contract with them.
  • goto https://goo.gl/vhVWku - Please quote WRT135 - MSE in the subject line. then when you get the ticket ID post it in this so Lee and the Voda team can reply to you
  • And what if Lee and the Voda team miss this thread?
If you write instructions, do this more accurately and don't forget to say that a link to this thread has to be included into the e-mail/message.
  • The payments for the new contract usually start instantly. I use this to my advantage.
My upgrade is usually cheaper than the old contract so i get a few weeks or months at a lower price.
Obviously if your upping the monthly price it will work against you. But the price always started right away.
You agree to the terms over the phone. Its a long speil these days. I upgraded recently and it was a guy at first took a while to mention everything. But the 2nd phone i upgraded it was a woman and she managed most of it without a pause for breath...
If they made the mistake and admit they said the new price wont apply until a future date then see if the Voda rep can sort it.
If not then a formal complaint in writing.
  • Well, I stand corrected. I seem to have misunderstood Lee's posts when skimming them.
However, my common sense suggests that the link has to be emailed for this to work.
  • Hi ibooreddevil,
If you still need to help with this, email me via the contact details provided by grumbler and Collabora.
    Kind regards,
