A question about : Virgin Mobile Nightmare Issue

Hi there everyone,

My friend came to me with this query and i thought i would post here for a bit of help.

He had a phone contract with Virgin Mobile and after losing his job due to ill health he virtually had no money and couldn't afford the monthly price. Virgin mobile ended up disconnecting the services and said he needed to pay Ј131 to have them put back on. He explained that he doesn't have that, To cut a long story short, he said he has spent MONTHS trying to sort something out with virgin, however for the last 13 months they have placed late payment markers on his credit file for each month, On Equifax is shows 13 late payment marks, Can they really do this? I thought they would of registered it as a default? Stopping all these late payment markers.

Also, he says he has sent countless letters and many phone calls and has just got no where with them. It was last week he checked his updated credit file and the Virgin mobile debt shows payments up to date with a green box and the balance shows Ј0... It has confused us both as the balance was Ј300 and its not been fully cleared. No recent communication has been made with Virgin Mobile so he is quite confused as to why it would be showing this.

If anyone could provide any help about the 13 late payments that are registered and the fact that the debt now shows up to date and no balance, it would be a great help.

Thank you.

Best answers:

  • Possibly the debt has been sold on and he will shortly getting a knock at the door.
You don't say what was Virgins response during the "countless letters and phone calls"
At the end of the day he owes the money and will eventually either have to pay Virgin or debt collectors.
