USD to GBP Likelihood of big change in rates?

A question about : USD to GBP Likelihood of big change in rates?

Hi

Bought an electrical item in the USA which I will be bringing back in a couple of weeks.

It cost $634 which works out at Ј385 which is just under the Ј390 allowance.

If the exchange rate does change and takes me above the Ј390 I will get stung bu all sorts of fees when I bring it back.

What is the likelihood of the exchange rates changing that much to take it over the threshold? Know you cant predict the future but historically does it change that much?

• depends what it is , if its small and will go in your case i wouldnt worry about it , on a recent trip i spent $1000 on toys and clothes and wasnt checked or anything
• Thanks for the reply. Know is a wishy washy question but will be honest with customs and just hope they dont see me as an easy target and charge me Ј100 tax if it goes 50p over the threshold.
