A question about : Unknown CC transaction 'M S E Commerce'
Have a transaction on my statement simply saying 'M S E Commerce' which I don't recognise. Anyone any ideas where it might be from?
Best answers:
- Marks and spencer?
- Definately Marks and Spencer just checked a statement of mine...
HTH - Hi,
As maesmummy says it is M&S and I normally see this when I buy online for flowers or gift cards.
I questioned it when I got one of my statements as it didn't make sense.
Maybe you bought something for Christmas/gift for someone online.
Cheers
Debs - All makes sense now and I remember what I bought - thanks.
- I was going to suggest MoneySavingExpert
- Just had the same problem. I could not figure out who they are, a quick google and found this thread, then I realised it was a wine purchase...
Good old MSE. - Just had the same problem. I could not figure out who they are, a quick google and found this thread, then I realised it was a loungewear purchase...
Good old MSE.
Good old Google. - I had the same panic and seeing your input after a google search, cancelled my card only to find out it is Marks and Spencers. It would be nice if they used their proper name.
- Me too - panic over!
- I have discovered today that is a trading name for marks and spencer. It shows up on your cc statement for anything purchased over the internet and uses groceries as its category. Bit confusing; do not see why they have to use a different trading name.
- OK. This thread started over two years ago and it looks like people are still puzzled when they see M S E Commerce on their bills. If anyone in authority from Marks and Spencer is reading this thread, get someone to change it to M&S E-Commerce please. It won't need much more printer ink but the meaning will be much more obvious.
- It would require clearing bank services to support the use of an ampersand in merchant DBA names though - there's a bit more to it than printer ink unfortunatley
- I too could not recognise 'MSE Commerce'. This is not a suitable name for M&S. and is open to everyone querrying it with their card company. I have recently had fraudulent transactions on my credit card and this was one of many transactions which I was claiming no knowledge of. Had it not been for this web site, I would have refused to pay for it especially as it is catagorised as 'groceries'
- this appeared on my credit card statement and i didn't have a clue what it was and couldn't find a credit card receipt to tally with it. i googled m & s e commerce, it took me to martin lewis site and i then realised from all the blogs that i had ordered some food from my local store! it would have helped if it had appeared with the store branch next to it! how would one know what e commerce was!
- just caused me a huge panic. I was about to cancel my credit card when I thought of googling it. So glad I found this thread - so PLEASE don't remove it, old though it may be!
Really would have thought M & S would have got their act together by now - they must have had so many complaints - Yes. I just had the same panic. Googled it and Money Saving Expert was the 1st on the list.
Panic over it is indeed M & S (Marks & Spencer). Few. - Thought you'd been buying off Martin's ebay account
