A question about : University/Age 63/Ј?
Discussion in the pub the other day. Can you go to Uni at 63 with a Goverment Grant of Ј9k ? pa. You will never have to pay it back as you do not earn more than Ј15k pa
Would be nice to do a degree. Would funds be available at this age ? Up to what amount and for what purpose (eg living expenses as well !). Would any of this be means tested ?
Just a thought, though maybe ........
Any ideas please
Best answers:
- AFAIK age isn't a barrier to student finance, but residence and whether or not you've had any before may be.
Work your way through these pages.
Looks as if you won't get maintenance loan if you're over 60, just your fees paid.
Quote: - There's no age limits for the tuition fee loans but no maintenance funding is available for over 60s. The threshold for repayment is now Ј21,000 and someone with pension income over this amount would repay 9% of any income over this, just like anybody else.
