A question about : Ultrasound led steroid injection

NO ,MEDICAL ADVICE REQUIRED

Had injection in elbow and hand yesterday, in my left arm, also left handed.

now i have all the painkiller and gels the doctor has given me thats fine, but when does this pain stop....

I was hoping it would of died down by now

Best answers:

  • I think it can take a few days. It may even get worse before it gets better as the area has been bruised by the injection. They often put some local anaesthetic in the mix to counter this. Hope it feels better soon.
  • I had that done in my toe, twice, i could have chewed my leg off at the time. It was better the day after. My consultant won't do it again, says it needs to be operated on
  • I've had my shoulders done a few times - Takes between two and four days to settle down.
FWIW, subsequent injections were not as bad as the first in each side.
  • I get the chewing your leg off, completely understand that, i have some ketoprofen which just takes the edge off for a while, but my god i was not prepared for the few days after, that anesthetic was good, a whole hour of no pain
