A question about : UKPC Parking Fine

I received a Ј60 parking fine when I parked at Boucher Road car park last weekend. I appealed the fine to UKPC on the basis that the signs were barely visable plus the lighting was poor as this happened late in the afternoon. As you would expect they turned down my appeal.

I know the issues around the payment of parking fines on private car parks has been discussed in other threads but I am looking for reassurance that there will be no further action taken if I do not pay this fine. If I can get away without paying this fine it will be great but if I end up in court or on some debtors list then I would probably be wiser to bite the bullet and pay the fine.

Thanks for any help forth coming.

Best answers:

  • Going by what I've previously read on this forum, just ignore it,no matter what they threaten, there is nothing they can do about it.
I'm sure some of the more regulars on here will back this up
  • You should not have got in touch with.
They will see it as a "bite" and send you even more letters than normal.
Ignore these and any that appear to be from a debt collecting company.
    Do not contact them again.
  • Don't worry about it. I've been receiving letter from UKPC for about 18 months now for parking over the line in Boucher. Just ignore, there hasn't been a single case taken in N.I. for one of the PCNs. Just bin the letters, some appear to be from debt collection companies, don't worry, they can't affect your credit rating, they'd have to obtain a CCJ and that's never going to happen.
Put in the red box. I've received around 20, I'm told it will stop soon enough.
  • If people are parking selfishly and inconsiderately then they deserve a fine.
