A question about : TV Aerial Repair

Hi all,

I've emailed / used contact us forms this morning so that I can get people out to quote for the following. One is coming tomorrow morning and asking if I'd like the work done there and then if happy with the quote - so just looking for a rough idea of a happy quote title=Smile

I have a TV aerial in the attic, but it appears that the cable has been cut / frayed (within the attic) and therefore isn't connected to the aerial socket in the living room and my TV doesn't pick up any channels. I'm looking to get this repaired which I imagine would involve running a cable from the aerial, down the outside of the house and into the living room.

Would anyone have an idea on cost for this please?
I'm based in South Wales.

Best answers:

  • If the cable has been cut or frayed maybe it just needs jointing in the attic, about a half hour job.
  • If a socket is mounted in a box in the wall the cable usually feeds up into the attic and then to the aerial in the roof, so possibly there is another cable somewhere up there that can be jointed especially if there is already an aerial up there I doubt that anyone would have removed it, if it had been fed through from outside there would be a cable or hole outside where the cable comes or came out.
Best let the aerial guy check and advise.
  • Girl. I'm in a wales and just had a brand new aerial out on my chimney stack and a huge voile ready for loft fitters. Cost me Ј95 all in which I thought was reasonable?!
