A question about : Trying to get a Refund on a cheque

Hi,

First of all I would like to apologies if this is in the wrong section.

I paid a company Јxxx.xx for a red care alarm service for the year by cheque but the company are saying they have never received the cheque and that the have cancelled the service as we haven't paid for it.

I have checked with my bank and the check has been paid in and they have sent a copy of the cheque to me also but the alarm company are just fobbing me off saying they haven't received it and haven't cashed it in. I don't know what to do now as they will not answer my calls or keep telling me the right person is not in.

I can't find online what the route is to try and get a refund on this.

Has anyone else been in this situation and know what options I have to claiming this money back? To be honest I do not want the service from them as they are very unprofessional and would prefer to go with another company.
