This board is now one of the site's most popular. And i know many people come here direct bypassing the main site.
So let me say a few things

From the perspective of the site (and me), getting people to join up is really important as it means I can contact you when there's an urgent way to save. Also in truth it means retaining traffic which is really useful.

When you have a website you rely on people to come to you. With an email you can tell people about something without them coming to you. So the email is a way of reaching out to people. In other words next week the tart alert comes out - i hope it'll be very popular. If there was no email, then i'd have to rely to people deciding to come to the site, but the email means i can simply say "oy new tart alert, come and look"
Being able to direct people both helps them know whats happening, but also means that the few clean revenue generating areas.

I'll admit it, of late I haven't been paying as much attention to the other boards but I do receive your email ;D - Note to Martin :- I wish to order a Blonde Tart. ;D
- If you read the full details about the tart alert - you'll see why. Basically credit card tarting is what you call moving 0% to 0% to 0% - tarting your custom.

if i ever get the chance to meet you guys, the beer is on me - To Martin, I would just like to say that whenever I catch you on TV you always mention the Citizens Advice Bureau, and I have to say many thanks. I worked there for 10yrs as a volunteer and know the good work they do, especially the money advisors, the one I knew worked much more hours than expected and the Bureaux as a whole deserve a mention.
