A question about : Tesco recalls foul smelling squash

BBC news item here.

Couldn't believe this:
Quote:

Mum Claire Davies wrote: Had this the other day, the smell was horrendous but drank it anyway as I thought they just changed it.
Since then both my daughter and partner have had bad bellies. A bit worried now as nobody knows what's wrong with them.

If it smelt so bad, why on earth did they carry on drinking it?

Best answers:

  • It says it smells like garlic! Why would you drink garlic squash?!
  • I expect the smell wasn't bad to begin with, but it got worse each time they retold the story.
If they have "bad bellies" and nobody knows whats wrong with them it can't have been the squash that made them bad. Otherwise everybody would know what is wrong with them, they would have bad bellies due to drinking garlic flavoured squash.
  • I still saw this squash in the Tesco in today. I had some coupons to use.
The worrying thing with this squash was it was still being purchased as saw a customer putting a bottle into her trolley!
She looked like the gobby type, so I kept quiet.
