  • Having a quick browse through their site is seemed like a good relatively simple way to earn some extra cash. But alas they don't support Apple hardware so its a no go.
  • Anyone here got any experience of working for this company? I'm interested in an addition to my current job and this seems feasible, I should be able to work the 20 hours minimum.
I'd be a bit anxious about going for it without a few positive independent views though. Would like to know how much they pay for what level of support etc.
  • I have applied today - fingers crossed!!!

  • I applied today - fingers crossed!!!!!
  • I signed up for TeleTech ages ago, completed their assessments about 3 weeks ago and haven't heard a thing!
  • I read some of the old thread. How many people on here actually got a job with Teletech? How long did it take them to get it? It seems to be a very long, drawn out process!
  • I applied a couple of weeks ago - but have not heard anything, nor have I been asked to take any tests. Have I done something wrong?
  • I worked for TeleTech for over a year at their call centre doing broadband tech support (not Sky though).
I had a bit of a mixed experience...obviously it wasn't awful because I stayed there for over a year, but I was quite lucky to be in the team I was and didn't have to deal with customers on first-line support (still got yelled at by plenty of them though! ). Also had a good team leader and mostly decent people to work with.
However, the call centre could be a bit of a shambles at times, very disorganised and inefficient, poor scheduling, constantly changing rules, people getting into trouble for silly things and others getting away with doing nothing all day. They also banned internet access because of people using sites like bebo and youtube, which was a bit silly (they could have just blocked those sites, and it's hard when you get stumped with something you could have the answer to in a minute with Google).
The only issue I ever personally had was that they promised me transport home when I started working the night shift and I never got it because the bus service they used said I lived too far away. I lived 10 minutes away and they regularly took people 20+ minutes in the opposite direction. So I either had to get a taxi or get someone to pick me up at 1am. But apart from that, I enjoyed the job and didn't have any other major problems with the place.
Of course, you may have a different experience working from home. I'd certainly suggest someone do that rather than work in the call centre.
Erm, hope I don't get into trouble now. I'm sure someone from TT is keeping an eye on this...!
  • Is there anyone applied for teletech recently? They are asking for references in the application form. Its just that I worked a long time ago and don't have contact with my last employer. So I don't think I can give them as my reference. Is it o.k to give a ref. from the institution I studied last??
    Can anyone clarify it pl.?
  • I got excited and filled out the application form. It takes a while filling the form, I got email from them regarding assesment. When I went to get my equipment tested I found out they do NOT support Mac.
Since I use Mac I now cannot become eligible.
So all Mac users be aware.
  • Messenger - that would be fine, I haven't worked for a while either and put down one referee that was probably about 8 years out of date! I still got the pc check come through and someone called me regarding training and the final test so don't worry too much about how old your reference are, it will be fine.
  • Thanks Lynnie27. I will try that and post the result.
  • Hi
I have a few questions about working for Teletech and would really appreciate it if someone would take the time to answer my questions. Send me a private message if you prefer.
How busy are you? Are the calls constant – or do you get 5 minutes between calls? Are the number of calls you answer monitored?
What shifts are available just now?
Can you work somewhere other than the computer/telephone line you specify at the start? Is it simple to "log in" and change your phone number for a couple of days if you want to work from another location?
    Thanks
  • Hi
    Thanks for the info.
The shifts you describe are 35 or 40 hours per week - surely that's full time?
    I thought it was part-time.
  • i been offered a job with training starting on first feb ..
  • Hours start from 20 hours per week but sometimes they put out a shift bid where you can apply for more hours/ change of hours. Not everyone gets the hours they want but some get lucky.
