A question about : Take That Tour Tickets

I have followed with interest the sale of the Take That tickets today for their tour next year. I feel really sorry for all those fans who haven't managed to get any and don't understand why so many are already appearing on ebay ??? and at very inflated prices. title=Frown

The genuine ticket agencies must have predicted the overwhelming demand so why didn't they prepare for it ? I don't understand how people could have secured tickets when websites such as ticketma$ter had crashed before 9am ! and thus be selling them on via ebay and the re-sale ticket agencies ?

there must be a fairer way for tickets for such high profile / high demand acts to be sold than this but I don't have any ideas title=Frown

  • I loaded up all 6 ticket sites through the official take that website half an hour before they went on sale and kept refreshing them with 5 minutes to go. 3 of the sites went down just before 9 but ticketmaster and seetickets worked. I got put in a queue on seetickets and a few minutes after being put in a queue it went through to entering details.
I did like how seetickets had text only and changed the home page to the take that tickets so it decreased bandwith usage.
I do hate the ticket touts buying them in bulk to sell on 5 times the price.
  • I really wanted to go with my Mum and sisters but we've been trying all day with no luck not sure if theres any left now!!
  • I have been lucky enough to get some but did spend 4 hours glued to my laptop, and using both my mobile and house phone to get them, so I feel like I earnt them!!!
I know that theyhave been adding extra dates so fingers crossed you get some!
  • has anyone ever heard of ticketline uk? they are based in cardiff, i brought some tickets for the g/f off them and now im worried that they are a scam... can anyone help?
  • I just got some for Wembley as they announced new dates!
Just went onto SeeTickets, choose my date and was put through straight away!
  • I have been trying since they went on sale with no luck-To see the amounts they are going for on ebay is so annoying. I will wait and see if I manage to get some but if not I wont resort to over the odds prices from touts, I would rather spend the money on something else than have it go in their pockets.
  • I think most of the ones on eBay are speculative in the way that people are selling them before they've got them. You could put up 4 tickets for sale on eBay at 9am then spend a couple of hours getting the tickets you've just sold.
However, I also don't agree with people buying them to sell on eBay. I have secured 4 tickets for Wembley on the 1st July for my wife and her friends. If they don't want them (it's a surprise so she doesn't know yet), I'll see if other friends want them at cost..... or start a bidding war between friends ;-)
  • Been trying to get my disabled daughter tickets since 9am - no joy!
Got through to Ticket Factory this morning (one of the official companies listed in the official tour advert), who have their own disabled access contact phone number.
They told me for the Take That tour they aren't dealing with this, and I should dial 0115 912 9000 (SeeTickets)
Finally got through to them about 9.30 this eve after trying all day, and they said NO they don't do disabled access tickets, I should dial 0870 400 0750.
That number just came up with a message saying 'line not in service'
    AAAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!!
I've also tried Ticketmaster 0844 847 1655, which claims to be an official Take That disabled access number, according to the recorded message you get when you call it, but after the message ends, the line goes dead! Its done that all day since 9am !
Can anyone point us in the right direction please?
    thanks

  • There a quite a few Take That fans who didn't manage to get tickets in tears on the official forum, turning into anger with the touts on ebay. That's over 6,000 listings for TT tickets at the moment. I don't really mind people re-selling if things change and they can't go for one reason or another, but since these have been listed almost immediately I'm guessing that's not the case with these listings...there's also a lot of frustration with the general chaos and stress with the vendors today. They should have been better prepared or at least been better at giving out info. And lots of frustration about the fact that TT didn't allow for a pre-sale for genuine fans.
  • I'm also very frustarted with the 6000+ almost immediate llistings on ebay, how can this continue to go on?? Some wanting 100's of Јs more than face value. I hope this is stopped someday soon. I can't afford that to take my children
I have sold tickets on ebay because we couldn't go, BUT at face value...
  • I am one of the lucky ones who managed to get tickets today after putting my Mum on the job from 9am then taking over when I got in from work at 230pm.
Thankfully my Mum and Dad are paying for my ticket for my Christmas.
I think its sickening that touts and others who can afford the initial outlay of the cost of the tickets can then start selling their "extra" tickets on via ebay for not just hundreds BUT thousands of pounds. Maybe they should either limit the sale to 2 per address/card/person OR start thinking along the lines of some sort of ID on the tickets similar to Glastonbury either a photo on them or the person's name who bought them and proof of ID at the venue.

  • A million tickets were sold today. The organisers should have staggered the roll out of the tickets over a two day period thus avoiding the overload on the system.
I range ticketline over 160 times before 10 am this morning, i got tickets in the end through a work colleague whose friend queued outside the stadium.
  • For all the complaining about ticket touts - I bet every single one of you would sell something for a profit if you could!
The secondary ticketing business is perfectly legal.
  • I agree that these one day releases are just so unfair. I couldn'tget access via any method today so completely missed out - so unjust! Maybe I should get a second job selling tickets on ebay; because my 1st didn't help today!!
  • From 9am I was watching See and Ticketmaster online and repeatedly dialling Ticketmaster. By some miraculous fluke I got 4 Wembley tickets through See at 2.30pm - it did take hours but my friends (the 3 who are joining me) are utterly beside themselves with joy...
  • Touting of tickets for professional football tickets is illegal. If this can be applied to football then why not for any or all events.
Too many people are making money from ticket sales and resales be it booking fees or inflated prices for reselling an item which is probably not even in your possesion.
I tried to get 4 tickets for a friend yesterday trying several official agencies online and 2 phone lines, but best that came up was 2 together or single seats in different parts, so I didn`t buy any.
In response to the poster who thinks we are all out to make easy money at someones expense neither I nor any of my friends have ever taken more than face value for a ticket for any event, your assumption of greed shocks me.
I also noted that you could buy 8 tickets at a time if you were lucky enough to get through , something that needs to be addresed, and why were all venues put on sale at the same time , a recipe for disaster as anyone who has tried to buy football tickets for a big match will tell you Ticketmaster and asssociated never do cope.
Indeed for a recent Scotland match tickets appeared on Ebay at inflated prices so some of the fans entered hyper inflated bids to thwart the seller, this was covered in the national press.
