A question about : Take That Manchester

Hi,

Can anyone help?

Can you take food and drink in?
What time is best to get there?
Where can you park and how much?
Can you take in picnic blankets / fold up chairs for the standing area?

We are going on Sunday and can not wait!

Thanks, Nikki

  • I have searched and searched and managed to see parking is Ј10 but limited and doors open at 5pm so plan to arrive at 3pm.
Can not see anywhere on what you can not take in... anyone help with that?
    Thanks, Nikki
  • My tickets say you cant bring in any food and drink. Are you hoping on standing or sitting? Im going to get there fore 5pm. But then again Im pregnant and NEED a seat or I wont last the night!
  • Tickets are not in hand yet so that answers that thank you.
We have purchased standing / unallocated seating but we were hoping to stand and take our own fold up chairs.
Just not sure if they are allowed.
    Cheers, Nikki
  • Ive got my ticket but can't see anything on back about taking fold up chairs. I have been to a few before and am pretty sure have never seen any inside so either noone else thought to take them or else they not been allowed in with them.
Give them a call they should be able to tell you. I'm suspecting not allowed but you never know.
Enjoy the concert Im going Saturday can't wait just hope the weather picks up again by then!
  • Lol, my husband even said..."I bet you are the only person who turns up with one" I may just take a picnic blanket
  • I am pretty sure you will be the only one that turns up with a picnic blanket!
  • We went to Sunderland on opening night, it might differ between places but we could take food in but had our bottles of water/coke confiscated. They only searched bags though so you could pop them in your coat pockets and get them through, they were selling them a minute inside the gates anyway (Ј2.60 each ). Gates opened at 5, went in at about quarter past and had the choice of any seats so managed to get really good ones, standing didn't really get busy for an hour or two, just people who wanted to be in the front couple of rows. Lots of people had picnic blankets or fleeces in the standing area, didn't see any chairs though so can imagine they wouldn't be allowed. My best tip is to wrap up warm as we were bloody freezing all night! Plus if you're taking a camera make sure you have plenty of batteries. It is an absolutely amazing show!
  • claire bear - what time did you que from to get throught at 5.15, just trying to work out timings , we have seated so will it matter what time we get there
  • It wasn't that long, I think we got there at about maybe 4.30-45? The queue wasn't that big when we got into it, just before 5 everyone seemed to join it though. Seats didn't fill up until quite late, when we went in we could have picked any section we liked, even up til about 6 you could probably sit where you want as long as there's not a big group wanting to sit together, there was a lot of seats in ones and twos, you just had to ask if anyone was sitting there. I guess it depends where you're going though, I imagine Manchester or one of the bigger venues will probably be busier earlier.
  • At Sunderland, what time did the Pet shop boys and Take that come on stage and what time did the concert finish? Just trying to work out how fast we will need to walk back to the train station!!
  • We've been to TT at Manchester before.
    Never noticed fold up chairs.
    No food or drink allowed.
Parking at the ground is Ј10 & limited - the roads are closed after the show for a while to let everyone out, so if you park there you'll have to wait. Last time we parked about 10 mins walk away for Ј10 - by the time we walked back to the car we drove straight off with no problems.
We had the same tickets last time, un reserved seating / standing - got there about opening time & went straight in wth no queue. Got good seats, a lot of people don't seem to bother until TT come on - not sure it'll be the same with the pet shop boys.
Going this Saturday so can try & answer any questions after. i do remember food being expensive & not good, so eat before going in.
  • Hi,
Does anyone know where you can smoke?
  • Has anyone had problems getting decent cameras in, I've got a Nikon Coolpix p500 and had no idea cameras were not allowed until reading some forums today.
  • I never thought about camera's... was going to take our mini video camera as this is our childrens first concert and wish to film them... not Take That!
    Anyone know?
    Thanks, Nikki
  • Last night was fantastic!!!!
Saw a couple of people outside with fold up chairs, i didn't see them inside so I can only guess the got crushed - haha.
We arrived at about half four - the queues were massive - they may be a little mote organised today. It took an hour to get in - bag searches slowd it down. Water is ok is un opened, cameras everywhere, i didn't see any being turned away but most people had small compacts - we have a good Lumix but didn't risk it & took our old one.
PSB were fantastic, they came on at 7 & did 45 mins. TT came on at 8.15 sharp - people in front of us went for food at 8 & missed loads - why????? It has to finish at 10.30 (mcc rules).
    Brilliant day - enjoy

So was food/ drink other than water being confiscated?
What were the prices like inside?
I assume anything in pockets wasn't checked?
