A question about : Student summer benefits

Basically I'm a student about to finish my first year of uni. I dont have a job sorted yet, does anyone know if I am able to get job seekers or income support? I have to pay Ј50 a week rent to my parents, they're both in debt and have a baby on the way so theres no way around it. Does anyone no if theres any support for people in my position?

Thanks

  • If you're returning to do second year, you won't be entitled to anything, unless you're part of a couple, (with a child?) disbaled oe a lone parent.
You won't be able to claim IS unless you're a lone parent or a carer.
  • You may be eligible for this
    https://campaigns2.direct.gov.uk/money4mum2be/en/
and some of the other things mentioned on there
If you're returning to uni in september i don't *think* you'll be eligible for JSA
  • Yes I'm returning to university in September. I have a part-time job but the work is as and when needed, which works out to about 1 night a week. I've signed to some agencies but I've not heard anything yet.
  • When it's clearing for new students, they need people to help with that at uni. My uni (Middlesex) os advertising this, is yours?
  • I don't think any kid staying at home can get any help with paying rent to 'mum and dad'......
  • oops, my bad, sorry i misread that!
  • The free ride is over. You'll be working for minimum wage at whatever you can find during the summer I'm afraid. You are entitled to no benefits.
Why do you think so many people in hindsight say that school days are usually the best days of your life
